oooh, it’s shiny too

Well hacking the iPod touch is really not that hard at all. Just a case of down-grade, install jailbreak app, upgrade and a few reboots and some resyncing later.

Ok, not a huge reason why – though I should have a look at finding a mail client for it. Which would be a lot more useful that trying to use normal webmail *Cringe*

using time machine on network shares

Well there is some undocumented methods to make time machine work on non-locally attached storage, and although it might be disabled in patches – this works pretty well:

As a regular user and in a terminal

defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1

Then when you visit the time machine preferences you can choose a network share as a TM location. Now it’s very tempting to get a little mac mini for some zfs/nfs goodness

coooooffffeeeeeeeeee

Oh dear, finally got a espresso machine – not a full bean-to-cup (but then again isn’t part of the fun making the espresso?). Just need to remember correctly make one – first attempt didn’t turn out too great – but still drinkable.

I’m sure I left my notes somewhere . . .
