Well work was so kind to get me a little macbook pro – already got windows xp on it, and just need a couple of versions of solaris and i’m set – but found http://blog.medallia.com/2006/05/smacbook_pro.html little app for controlling the light sensor and using it to switch virtual desktops. Very nice, the right hand sensor seems a little odd tho – but one is better than another and it is a neat party trick for those “these are not the windows you are looking for” moments.

So was at airport yesterday, woke up early to make sure we’d get there in time, lo and behold [http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,13509-2478909.html News Item number 1] on the 5am BBC bulletin, and as soon as they mentioned the two sets of “BA planes” and “radiation” i just knew it’d be on the flights to Domodedevo!

Aside from that, airport was nice and quiet, sitting around before check-in, up wanders a gentleman and asks if we’re flying to Moscow, so I reply in the affirmative and a few questions later I find myself in front of a Channel 4 TV camera – DOH!

Welcome to my 15 minutes of fame, and just to add added spice to it all, the clip is being shown on one of the Russian channels every 5 minutes or so! Think next time I’m just going to stay at home.

Finally found the hidden menu for the DVD player:-

Turn On the unit with the remote controller
Wait until “no disc” appears in the unit’s display
Press PAUSE, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9

This brings up the menu, select the region code that you want to change to or select 0 for multi-region.
Press PAUSE to exit.
